DORSET COUNCIL has made a Notice under Section 14 [2] of the Road Traffic Regulations Act 1984 as amended. All vehicles will be prohibited from proceeding along various roads, Witchampton as stated:

  1. Lower Street in the vicinity of Fernhill Cottage & Lower Street in the vicinity of Abbey Farm House;
  2. Zannies Lane from the junction with Dark Lane to a point approximately 20 metres to the south;
  3. Sheephouse Drove in the vicinity of Copperfields, Pound Hill

The Notice is needed in order to comply with health and safety regulations which require the provision of safe working areas and to minimise the likelihood of danger to highway users. It will come into operation on 13th September 2021 between 07:00 and 17:00​​ and remain in force for five days, but it is anticipated that the works will be completed by 17th September 2021.

This Notice will enable Dorset Council to carry out a series of investigative boreholes to inform the future design of a new sewerage system at Five Ash Cottages, Witchampton.

Please note althought the above dates coincide only one road will be closed at any one time. Locally signed diversion routes will be put in place to enable traffic to travel around the closed sections.
