A vacancy now exists for a Parish Councillor for the Parish of Hinton, which is an opportunity for electors in the Parish to call for an election (by no later than 19th November) to fill the vacancy. If an election is not called, a replacement Councillor will be co-opted.

The text of the notice, is as follows:

Pursuant to Section 87(2) of the Local Government Act 1972, that Chris Bailey has ceased to be a Member of the Parish Council, and that a vacancy now exists in the office of Councillor.

If within 14 days after the date of this notice (i.e. no later than 19 November 2021) a request for an election to fill the vacancy is made to the Returning Officer, Electoral Services, Dorset Council, County Hall, Dorchester, Dorset, DT1 1XJ or by email to elections@dorsetcouncil.gov.uk by TEN electors who are registered in the Parish of Hinton where the vacancy has arisen, an election will be held to fill the vacancy, otherwise the vacancy will be filled by co-option.

If an election is called, it will take place not later than 26 January 2022. Dated 1 November 2021
