TEMPORARY TRAFFIC MANAGEMENT ORDER
TARRANT HINTON & TARRANT VALLEY AREA
(for Great Dorset Steam Fair, 2019)
The Great Dorset Steam Fair (GDSF) is a well-established event, and since 1988 it has been located at Tarrant Hinton, off the A354, approximately 3 miles north-east of Blandford Forum. To reduce the impact of the event on the travelling public Dorset Council has processed a Temporary Traffic Management Order which imposes a 40mph speed limit and a prohibition of overtaking on the A354 in the vicinity of the site; and two temporary 30mph speed limits on the Tarrant Valley road, north and south of the A354. The temporary speed limits and the overtaking ban are measures that reduce accident potential and conflicts with vehicles manoeuvring into and out of the site.
